Description:
Honeywell unveiled UniSim Design Suite R460.1, the latest major release of Honeywell’s process simulation technology. UniSim Design Suite is part of Honeywell’s family of simulation software and engineering solutions for process simulation, design, analysis, performance monitoring, optimization and business planning for the oil and gas, refining, biofuels, petrochemical, chemical and power generation industries.
What’s new in UniSim Design Suite R460.1:
Honeywell released UniSim Design Suite R460.1 on 9th May 2018. Honeywell’s UniSim Design Suite is part of the UniSim® software family of online and off-line process design and optimization applications. Giving users the power to determine process workflows, equipment sizing and rating requirements, UniSim solutions help customers capture and share process knowledge, improve plant profitability and maximize returns on investments in simulation technology.
UniSim Design Suite R460.1 addresses some significant issues found in version R460; the most important of these are described in the Articles listed below:
– KNOWN ISSUE: CO2 tray efficiencies are not predicted correctly by the DBR Amine Package in an Amine Contactor Column in UniSim Design R460
– KNOWN ISSUE: running multiple instances of UniSim Flare R460 simultaneously leads to corruption of the case
Furthermore the USE-IT Excel tool has been enhanced to remove the dependence on the Windows Scripting Component (WSC) hence avoiding the need to workaround the security changes introduced by Microsoft in recent months.
Additionally the Russian language user interface capability has been improved by removing the separate Russian language installer and introducing a new UniSim App to allow the user interface language to be switched.
Further details of all the changes made and issues addressed may be found in the Software Change Notice (SCN) document included within the \Documentation sub folder of the UniSim Design installation folder
About UniSim Design Suite. Honeywell’s UniSim Design Suite is an intuitive process modeling software that helps engineers create steady-state and dynamic models for plant design, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, business planning, and asset management.
The process simulation market is under transformation. Triggered by technological advancements and new customer requirements, process simulation models, which have traditionally been desktop analysis and decision-making tools, are now leveraged into new high-value solutions, such as “connected†operational monitoring.
