Overview: Once every thousand years, an apocalypse sweeps our world. The survivors always number just enough people to rebuild the civilization, only for it to be nearly annihilated by the next round of the cycle.

I am Strauss, a peasant with the ability to summon spirits. Or well, a spirit, and only when she feels like it. But I’m working on that.

Together with my best friend, Leyla, we find an elven girl, Nieveh, sealed in a thousand-year-old pyramid.

Nieveh has been sent to our age from the previous one to help us stop the cycle, armed with prophecies of their time’s oracles.

Though the prophecies don’t seem to be terribly accurate.

She was supposed to be awoken a year before the next apocalypse by people she calls the scions of apocalypse.

Those are heroes marked and empowered by fate to stop the next apocalypse.

Yet neither Leyla nor I are scions. We have no marks, no powers, and neither a history of nor plans for any heroism.

But when disasters strike, peasants like us are the first to die.

We plan to live for a long longer than a year.

So, we embark on the quest to stop the end of our age.
