Cathrin è una psicologa criminale che per anni ha lavorato insieme al marito Liam, un poliziotto. Un giorno, Liam sparisce nel nulla e Cathrin crolla psicologicamente trovando l'unica distrazione nell'alcol.
Dieci anni dopo, il figlio, anche lui poliziotto, l'aiuta a rimettersi in piedi e a tornare al suo vecchio lavoro. Durante delle ricerche per un caso, i resti del marito vengono ritrovati assieme a quelli di una fossa comune con quelli di altri bambini.
Riuscirà Cathrin a scoprire la verità sui fatti di dieci anni prima e a fermare la cospirazione che sta mettendo a rischio la vita di molte persone?
