He is only seventeen years old this Monster Mike Welch and just finished high school. Rolling Stone magazine wrote about him "A young teen who can rip off the top of your head and scram your brains into your neck with his blues guitar work". And indeed when you listen to his guitar playing it is almost unimaginable that we are dealing with a seventeen-year-old musician. His songs sound mature and you can only admire his soulful guitar playing. He wrote the dozen songs for "Ax to grind" himself or in collaboration with guitarist George Leroy Lewis. The Monster Mike Welch Band also consists of Jon Ross (bass) and Warren David Grant (drums). A promise for the future!
