Byron Bay, which sits on the easternmost point of Australia, became famous as a beacon of creativity and freedom. And now Miriam, on her quest to better herself, is keen to see if this is still a place where anything goes, if it's changing, and if indulging in all this 'freedom' does anything for the community. Beneath the carefree exterior of the town, she learns about the issues affecting it, as well as catching up with local influencers, hippies and surfers to experience the fun and unusual activities that bring people to the area.

Miriam arrives in Broken Hill, heading into the outback town to learn how people creatively reinvent themselves in a place built on legends and traditions. As she drives into town, the famous mines are everywhere. They brought tens of thousands to the outback and built the place - but the mines are dwindling, and so is the population. It's a town ripe for reinvention and full of surprises. Miriam checks into the iconic Palace Hotel, where The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was filmed, learns about the local community and its mining trade, joins a walking drag tour, and takes a trip to a camel farm.
