A United Nations team of forensic experts and detectives is conducting a large-scale investigation to find traces of the victims of the worst atrocity in Europe since the Nazi era. Using video footage and photographs taken by spy planes, the team aims to reach at least the graves of the more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslims who disappeared in Srebrenica in 1995 in one day. In doing so, they will uncover what happened to them and pave the way for those responsible for this atrocity to be brought to justice.

The series "The Dead Speak" brings together forensic experts, archaeologists and detectives to solve the riddles of suspicious deaths. Experts evaluate evidence from mass graves to dusty archives and the cellars of mysterious castles, lifting the curtain on deaths that have remained a mystery to this day.
